Target Shotgun SCC Assessment | Friday 14th May 2021
This purpose of this assessment is to provide individuals with a Shooter Certification Card in ‘Target Shotgun’, there is no skills training or coaching during this assessment
The assessment is suitable for individuals with experience in shooting Target Shotgun
This 2 hours assessment will include the written Target Shotgun SCC test, followed by an on range practical assessment
Please ensure that you have read the NRA Shotgun Training Manual and also the Target Shotgun Rulebook before attending the course. Both can be downloaded from our website: https://nra.org.uk/nra-handbooks/
COVID-19 notice:
If you are feeling unwell or have Covid-19 symptoms, please do not visit the National Shooting Centre (NSC), no matter how mild the symptoms. The NSC has put in place Covid-secure procedures throughout the camp. Please adhere to the various notices and instructions. Entry Requirements:
- The course is open to any person who is not a prohibited person under section 21 of the Firearms Act, and is a member of a Home Office Approved Club (The NRA is a Home Office Approved Club)
Course Details:
- Entry to the course is £25 (Under 25s £15)
- Non-NRA members are welcome, but are required to pay an additional Non-NRA Member Fee of £7.40
- Rifle and Ammunition are not included and attendees are expected to bring their own. If not yet in possession of a suitable firearm attendees can have use of an NRA firearm for £9.50, and purchase sufficient ammunition for £14, both will be issued on the range by the Instructor
Dress & Equipment:
Attendees should bring warm weatherproof clothing and appropriate footwear in case of inclement weather.
You will need:
- Safety glasses & Ear defenders
- Firearm - a magazine fed shotgun (tube or box) either S1 or S2*
- Cartridge belt (NRA has a limited number available for use)
- Normal shooting equipment
- *Under the Firearms Act you are NOT permitted to borrow or use a high capacity firearm or solid slug ammunition without possessing a firearms licence that permits you to possess such items
- Approximately 30-50 rounds of Birdshot (size UK 4/5/6/7/8) and 30 slug - Fibre Wad Only (if permitted to possess on FAC)
