The Phoenix Meeting offers a huge variety of competitions across multiple disciplines including Civilian Service Rifle, F Class, Gallery Rifle & Pistol, Muzzle Loading and Black Powder, McQueen, Sporting Rifle and Target Shotgun. Most of the National Shooting Centre's range complex is in use over this weekend, with events on offer between 10 to 1000 yards there is truly something for everyone!

Courses of Fire: All of the courses of fire can be found within the GR&P Handbook. FREE paperback copies are available from the NRA Offices, you can also download the handbook from our website

Entry Requirements:

  • Shooter Certification Card (SCC): Each civilian shooting on a MoD or NRA range has to carry a SCC issued by the chairman of a club of which they are a member and which is affiliated to the NRA. Competitors MUST be in possession of their SCC when shooting on NRA ranges. If you do not have an SCC for the type of firearm you wish to participate with please contact the Competition Co-ordinator before entering

  • This competition is open to members of Home Office Approved Clubs (HOAC) who are not prohibited under section 21 of the Firearms Act (The NRA is the largest HOAC in the UK). Non-NRA members are welcome, but are required to pay an additional Meeting Member Fee

  • On the first day of the Competition you must be aged 14 or over (please contact the Competition Co-ordinator before entering if this is not the case)


🏅 Awards: NRA medals will be presented to the top scoring competitors for each match subject to the amount of entries:

  • 2+ entries: Gold Medal
  • 6+ entries: Gold and Silver Medal
  • 11+ entries: Gold, Silver and Bronze Medal

Where a match is 'Classified' the results are split so your scores are listed against others in the same class. Classified events have classifications detailed at the end of their listing in the GR&P Handbook (View online copy HERE)

  • 🏆 Alan Whittle Classic Gallery Rifle Trophy: Highest aggregate of events 0704, 1104, 1904
  • 🏆 John Rolfe Trophy: Highest aggregate of events 0901, 0902
  • 🏆 Sue Mansbridge Rose Bowl: Highest aggregate of events 1501, 1502
  • 🏆 Bianchi Aggregate: Highest aggregate of events 1701, 1702
  • 🏆 Phoenix Gallery Rifle Champion: Highest aggregate of events 1501, 1502, 1701, 1702
  • 🏆 Pete Kington Trophy: Highest aggregate of events 5968, 6168
  • Target Shotgun Manual: Highest aggregate of events 0735, 1135
  • Target Shotgun Semi Auto: Highest aggregate of events 0736, 1136
  • 🏆 Alan Whittle Newcomers Trophy: Awarded to the competitor who has not previously entered an open Meeting at Bisley or elsewhere, achieving the highest number of Standard Points

Phoenix Grand Master Medal: By achieving a certain score in particular matches, you will be awarded 'standards' which equate to points towards a Grand Master Medal. Details on the scores you need to achieve can be found in the GR&P Handbook

Alan Whittle Novice Trophy: This will be awarded to competitors who have not previously entered an open Meeting at Bisley or elsewhere. The winner will be whoever achieves the highest number of points in the standard medal scores system


🦺 Range Crew: Without dedicated volunteers this and may other competitions would not be able to field the amount of competitors wanting to take part. You can help out for as little as half a day, or if you fancy it – the whole event!

  • Tuesday - Wednesday: Volunteer/ RO Competition Day: We require volunteers to run a limited number of ranges, namely Melville A-E, Butt Zero (Wed PM only). All events are unsquadded, but see our recommended programme
  • Thursday: Short Siberia (PM only for TS)
  • Thursday-Sunday: Most ranges require 1x CRO and 2x Range Team
