ABOUT THE COURSE

The Moving Target course is an advanced bolt-on to the NRA RSO Course, designed to enhance and broaden the skillsets of the qualified RSO. 

Moving target shooting is an enjoyable pastime and is very popular with many Clubs. The National Shooting Centre Bisley boasts having 4 moving target ranges and many Clubs nationally also have a moving target facility. 

AIM

The aim of this course is to instruct NRA Range Safety Officer's how to manage and supervise moving target ranges safely. 

 

Benefits of attending the course:

  • An insight into the mechanics of managing a moving target range
  • An understanding of how RDA templates are applied
  • An understanding of how to calculate lead
  • Further development of shooting skills

 

This course is 1 full day, running from 0830 - 1630, and consists of a mixture of classroom and on-range practical exercises.

The day will be split into 2 parts, each consisting of the following:

Part 1: Classroom based, covering the topics listed above.

Part 2: Dedicated to live fire, working as the RSO, Safety Supervisor and as a shooter.

 

Successful students will be awarded the Moving Target bolt-on to their NRA Range Safety Officer qualification, and will be authorised to act as a Range Officer on all Moving Target ranges.

 

Joining instructions with info on timings and location will be sent out around 2 weeks before the course date. 

 

FIREARMS

All firearms will be provided on the course, please do not bring your own.

 

PREPARATION

There is no advance preparation required for this course, however you may find it useful to have a read through the online pdf versions of the Range Safety Officers Handbook and the Range Managers Guide.

  

UNDER 25

If you are under 25, you can attend the course at a discounted price. Please note, the under 25 discount will be applied automatically at the final checkout screen when booking. If the discount does not appear, please continue with your booking but select to pay by BACS/ Cheque at the checkout. Then contact a member of the Training team at Training@nra.org.uk to inform them of the issue and they can provide details for you to make payment for the correct amount.

COURSE CANCELLATION POLICY:

If you need to cancel/ rebook:

Cancellation/re-booking within 5 working days of the course will incur a cancellation charge. See charges below.

  •  5 — 4 working days' notice: will incur a £20 fee
  •  3 — 2 working days' notice: will incur a £50 fee
  •  24 hours' notice/ No show: no refund given

If the NRA needs to cancel a course:

All courses hold the possibility of being cancelled if they do not reach the minimum number of attendees. If this happens, we will endeavour to give you as much notice as possible. You will be given the option to transfer over to a new date, or to receive a full refund for the course. 

Please note, any non-refundable accommodation booked by you is done so at your own risk. The cost of this will not be reimbursed by the NRA should a course need to be cancelled.
