A military conversion to the NRA Range Safety Officer (RSO) qualification and NRA Range Conducting Officer (RCO) qualification is available to current serving members of HM Forces (though applications will also be considered up to six months after leaving the Services). Additionally, you must meet the below criteria to be eligible for a military conversion:
- You are currently a member of a Home Office Approved Club

You will need to provide the following information:
- Military range course qualification (e.g copy of course certificate, JPA record, Westminster record or equivalent)
- A suitable photograph (this can be emailed over)
If approved for a military conversion your NRA RSO and RCO qualifications will be valid for 6 years from the date of conversion.
The NRA RSO qualification allows Range Officers to conduct civilian shoots on civilian club ranges. The NRA RCO qualification allows Range Officers to conduct civilian shoots on Ministry of Defence ranges.
