Civilian Service Rifle Imperial Meeting 2026

Wednesday 1st - Sunday 5th July

The pinnacle of the Civilian Service Rifle shooting year are the Imperial matches. Competitions take place from 25-500x testing every aspect of a competitors’ skill

Programme: 

🎯 Wednesday 1st July: CSR Imperial Match (All Day)

🎯 Thursday 2nd July: CSR 100/200/300 Yard Matches (AM), CSR Long Range Rural Match (PM)

🎯 Friday 3rd July: CSR Short Range Match (All Day), CSR Urban Match (All Day)

🎯 Saturday 4th July: CSR Rural Match (0830-1430), Falling Plates Team Match

🎯 Sunday 5th July: Methuen Team match

Classes:

  • Historic: Any SMLE/ No.4/ No. 5 rifle, service pattern as issued, with no attachments
  • Iron: Any rifle with iron sights, with no restriction on slings (but rests may not be used)
  • Service Optic: Any rifle with optic sights with no restriction on slings. Rests may not be used. (Any vertical or angled fore grip, if fitted, may be used)
  • Practical Optic: Any rifle with optic sights, with no restriction on slings or rests. Bipods must remain in the folded or retracted state at the start of a stage and may only be deployed when on the firing point and moving into the final firing position. A bipod must remain fitted to the firearm for the duration of the Stage or Practice

Entry Requirements:

  • Experience: This competition welcomes novice and seasoned CSR shooters
  • Membership: This competition is open to NRA Members. Shooters from other Home Office Approved Clubs are welcome but are required to pay the Non-Member Fee
  • Shooter Certification Card (SCC): If not in possession of an SCC, shooters may apply for a temporary SCC by emailing competitions@nra.org.uk
  • Age: On the first day of the Competition you must be aged 14 or over - please contact the Competitions Team before entering if this is not the case

Overseas Competitors: Those wishing to take part from overseas countries need to apply for a Visitor's Firearm Permit - CLICK HERE for details

Under 25 Discounts: 40% discount off entry fee for those that are under 25 years old on the day of the Event

🏆🏅Awards: Medals are awarded to the top scoring competitors for each match, in each class, subject to the amount of entries. In addition there are specific trophies & sponsored prizes for certain events - please see the NRA Handbook for full details:

  • 2+ entries: Gold Medal
  • 6+ entries: Gold and Silver Medal
  • 11+ entries: Gold, Silver and Bronze Medal

More Information:

📋Classifications: Each match in the Imperial Programme has its own Classification boundaries (see CSR Handbook). Within each firearm class shooters will be divided into classification groups based on the highest score they achieved in the three years prior to the current Meeting. New shooters to the CSR Imperial will be placed in the lowest class

✨New to CSR: For those new or looking to try Civ SR, we run 1-day ‘Introduction to Civ SR’ courses aimed at introducing you to the discipline. Further details are available here including the dates of up coming courses. The courses are run by highly experienced shooters and involve both classroom and practical on range coaching
