41st Inter-Counties 2026
Saturday 6th - Sunday 7th June
Squads of 10 shooters, of which 8 are selected to shoot in each the Short and Long Range Match.

Saturday:
08:30-12:30: The R Jarvis Trophy: (£TBC, Under 25s £TBC) Individual shoot, 2 convertible sighting shots and 7 to count at 300x, 500x & 600x. Open all to members of the County Team and any Target Rifle competitor who is a full member of the NRA or a member of an affiliated county taking part in the Meeting
13:30-17:30: The Lt Col H Jones VC Memorial Trophy: (£TBC) Teams of 8, 1 convertible sighting shot and 10 to count at 300x, 500x & 600x. Coaching within the squad is permitted. Two targets per team, 1 hour at each distance. The Colonel H Statuette was presented for the competition in 1983 by 2 Para in memory of their commanding officer Lt Col H Jones VC who had died leading his troops in the Falklands conflict.
Sunday:
08:30-12:00: The NRA Inter-Counties Long Range Team Match: (£TBC) Teams of 8, 2 convertible sighting shots and 15 to count at 900x and 1000x. Coaching within the squad is permitted. Two targets per team, 1 hour 30 min’s at 900x, and 1 hour 45 min’s at 1000x
1215-1245: Champion of Champions: (FREE) One individual per County, nominated immediately on completion of the Long Range Match. 2 convertible sighting shots and 15 to count at 1000x
08:30-12:30: The Clive Amstein Memorial Trophy: (Organised by the LMRA) is typically run on the Sunday morning, and is open to County Teams of 4 shooters – perfect for counties that cannot field a full team or wish to enter a second smaller team into competitions
Team Requirements:
- Squad Size: Open to teams of 10 from any geographical county in the United Kingdom. Squads are qualified by birth, residence or vote, any eight of whom may shoot in the Team Matches. All firers/coaches/captains must come from the pre-nominated squad of ten
- Eligability: This event is open to all abilities of shooters. A competitor may represent any county for which they are eligible except that they may represent only one county in any one calendar year
- Affiliation: Counties must be affiliated to the NRA. If a County is not affiliated but wishes to enter, they are to pay the Meeting Affiliation fee of £25.
- If there is only one rifle Club in a County then a County do not need to affiliate
- Counties may, if sanctioned by the Shooting Committee, combine to form a team
- Shooter Certification Card (SCC): All shooters must have a valid SCC. If not in possession of an SCC, shooters may apply for a temporary SCC by emailing competitions@nra.org.uk
- Age: On the first day of the Competition you must be aged 14 or over - please contact the Competitions Team before entering if this is not the case
