If you are interested in attending an introductory course, this will now be run alongside the advanced course on Sunday 8th March. Please email sharon.baker@nra.org.uk or call 01483 797777 ext. 208 if you would like to book onto the Sunday Course. 

AIM: This course will introduce you to specific techniques needed for Gallery Rifle and Pistol shooting at a Club level, as well as providing guidance to those wishing to progress into competitive shooting.  The Course will involve both classroom and practical range work with expert coaching.  

WHAT DO I NEED TO BE ABLE ATTEND?

Gallery Rifles: You can attend even if you are not yet in possession of a suitable rifle – although we do encourage you to bring your own so you can become more proficient with it.  Rifles can be hired in advance via this booking form, these will be brought to the range for you.

Long-Barrelled Pistol or Revolver: If you are in possession of an LBP or LBR the course will be suitable for you, we do not however hire out these firearms.

COURSE FEE: The Course fee is £77.00, which includes range fees, targets, scorebook, individual coaching and lunch. Ammunition and firearms are not included - attendees are expected to bring their own. If you plan to hire a rifle from us you will have shared use of a suitable NRA firearm (typically either a Ruger 10/22 or Marlin lever action) for the reduced rate of £24.00 for the day. You can also purchase sufficient .22mm rimfire ammunition for use during the course for £20.50. All firearms and ammunition will be collected by us and issued by our Instructors on the range.

NON-NRA MEMBERS: NRA members are welcome to attend, as are Non-NRA members providing they are a full member of a Home Office approved club affiliated to the NRA.  An additional membership fee of £7.25 will be applicable to Non-members.

DRESS AND EQUIPMENT: Attendees should bring warm and weatherproof clothing and appropriate footwear in case of inclement weather. You will need:

  • Ear defenders and Eye protection
  • Firearm
  • Approximately 200 rounds of suitable ammunition
  • Normal shooting equipment
  • Notebook and pencil

FOOD AND BEVERAGE: Tea and coffee will be provided during the classroom sessions and lunch will be provided
