ABOUT THE COURSE

The Club Instructor course covers the following:

  • To provide suitably experienced club members with the necessary skills to deliver the NRA Probationary Training syllabus at the highest standard for members in your club
  • To carry out assessments for your club for the issue of SCC’s
  • To adhere to the high standards laid out by the NRA’s Safe Shooting System

.

Students can expect a busy two days. There is much to absorb in a relatively short time, and participation and discussion are encouraged throughout the course.

The course is loosely structured around the NRA Probationary Course syllabus, but seen from the instructor’s point of view. It is deliberately not based on any shooting discipline, but is wide ranging in approach, starting by concentrating on the elements of safety which are common to all types of shooting.

.

WHAT WE COVER

Topics include such things as:

  • Safe Shooter System & NRA Safety rules
  • Basic instructional techniques
  • Firing point essentials
  • Principals of Marksmanship
  • Overview of technical skillsets
  • Firearms handling, both in class and on the range
  • How to conduct SCC assessments and accompanying paperwork

 .

Students are expected to demonstrate their knowledge and their ability to instruct by means of written tests and practical exercises.

This is a two-day course, each day running from 0830 - 1630. It is mainly classroom based, with some range work on day two.

Joining instructions with info on timings and location will be sent out around 2 weeks before the course date.

 .

PLEASE NOTE

This is NOT a full blown Firearms Instructor Course!
